How to make the most of our Virtual Open Day information

We know you may have some important questions. To help you find the answers, we’ve put together some key FAQs for you below.

If you still require further information, contact AskACU via chat, phone, or SMS.

Find out more about your options by watching our Admission Pathways at ACU and study area videos. Q&A session videos also cover more information relevant to each study area. If you’re after personalised advice based on your past study or experience, contact AskACU.

If you don’t have a webcam, that’s ok. You can use audio only in a one-on-one consultation. But if you do have a webcam, we recommend you turn it on to get the most out of your consultation by having a face-to-face chat with our experts.

If you have a disability that precludes you from using audio or video, let our expert know via the chat when it’s your turn and they will use text to chat to communicate with you.

How you apply depends on a number of factors, such as the course you’re applying for or if you’re a domestic or international student. You can view our Admission Pathways at ACU or How to Apply to ACU as an International Student videos for more information.

If you choose a one-on-one consultation, you’ll need to use a web version of Zoom or download the Zoom app.

You can download Zoom for free from their website and you also can find it on our help page. If you are new to Zoom, here are some instructions on how it works. If you have time before Open Day you can even join a test meeting to check your set-up works.

Our Q&A session videos will also cover more information relevant to each study area regarding pathway options. If you’re after personalised advice based on your past study or experience, contact AskACU.

Explore the different campuses through the ‘Campus’ tab at the top of the page – just select your campus of interest. On the page you’ll be able to watch videos of the campus, explore a 360-degree virtual tour, and view image galleries.

There are always opportunities to talk to our students. Visit our events page for more information about upcoming events featuring Q&As with our current students.

Remember, our current students and alumni (students who have already graduated) took part in a variety of Open Day panel sessions, so make sure you check out these videos as well.

One in four of our students have an international experience as part of their studies at ACU. You can watch our Learning Aboard: Going Overseas During Your Degree Q&A session, or visit our Study Abroad page for more information. We also recommend checking out our Rome Campus page where you’ll find more info about studying our International Core Curriculum there.

Don’t forget, you can still register for Virtual Open Day to go in the draw to win $5,000 towards studying at our Rome Campus (when it’s safe to go, of course).

Yes, there’s information relevant to both domestic and international students across our Virtual Open Days website. We know entry information and considerations for an international student can vary depending on where you’re coming from, so we also have videos you can watch of information sessions specifically for you. And if you can’t find the answers you need, visit ACU International for more information.

If you’re applying for a postgraduate course, you’ll have to apply through either your state’s Tertiary Admissions Centre (TAC) or directly to ACU. Find your course online through our course browser, which will outline the specific requirements and application process for your course.

Note: Applications through ACU are free and admissions provide a full assessment upon receiving the application. If you’re unsuccessful, admissions will always provide you with an alternate pathway into your desired degree, eg a graduate certificate.

For information about how to apply for postgraduate studies, check out our Postgraduate Hub. You can also watch Q&A sessions and pre-recorded videos about particular study areas.

If you have been made an offer for an undergraduate or a selected postgraduate course at ACU, you can apply to defer commencement of your course for up to one year. Deferment is not available for all postgraduate courses, and for some courses there may be additional criteria to consider before choosing to defer. Talk to our AskACU team for more information about how to defer.
