Student life

Your university experience is about more than just your time in the classroom. All our campuses have social and sporting clubs and groups as well as services designed to help you succeed.

ACU Engagement

When you study an undergraduate degree with us you’ll do more than just sit in a classroom, you’ll give back to the community.

Community engagement is a unique and crucial part of our undergraduate courses that connects classwork to community action for an invaluable learning experience in service to the common good.

You’ll gain valuable work experience and help people who experience disadvantage or marginalisation. Community engagement adds real value to your resume and gives you opportunities to put what you learn in the classroom into practice in the real world.

Find out more about volunteering and community engagement opportunities at ACU, including our Core Curriculum.

ACU Sport

Make memories through ACU Sport. Sport is a place for you to find community and enhance your health, wellbeing and uni experience, regardless of where you are on the start line.

Become a member of a sport club to play in local weekly competitions. Join the gym to use its modern facilities or participate in a group fitness class. Represent ACU in UniSport or Intervarsity competition or enjoy an on-campus pop-up event.

Whether you are a social, competitive or elite player, there is a community for you to join.

The Track

Think you’re Mario Kart royalty? Or certain you’re the Steph Curry of the pop-a-shot world? The Track is the home of ACU Sport and a space for you to relax, hang out with friends or show off your skills through activities like the mechanical surfboard and bubble soccer. The Track is filled with friends, stocked with free food and sound-tracked by live sport on TV. Want to escape the classroom? Jump into a Track Trip adventure like mini golf, indoor sky diving or axe throwing. If you want more competition, you can sign up for a health or Strava challenge. You’ll always find something to do at The Track.

Elite Athlete and Performer Program

The Elite Athlete and Performer Program (EAPP) is designed to give students who are elite sporting or artistic performers the tools they need to achieve balance across their active and academic lives.

Eligible athletes and performers applying to study at ACU can receive up to five adjustment factors.

Find out what support services are on offer and apply to the EAPP today.

Campus Ministry

Whatever your religion, or even if that’s not part of your life, our Campus Ministry Team is here to provide guidance, support, and to offer meaningful ways to explore life’s big questions.

As a Catholic university we’re guided by our clear mission, strong sense of identity and firm set of values. We act in Truth and Love, and we’re committed to the pursuit of knowledge, the dignity of the human person and the common good. We know who we are. That’s how we can help you understand yourself and the world around you. Our Campus Ministry team members can be with you at every step of your university life, whenever you need us. We run social events, provide hang-out spaces, offer reflection and prayer experiences, participate in social justice and community engagement, and keep our doors open if you ever need to talk.

They include faculty clubs such as the Nursing Student Society and the Business Club, as well as faith-based, cultural, or special-interest clubs such as the Pop Culture Society and the Korean Cultural Society.

You may also want to become a campus leader by joining your Campus Student Association. Student associations are run by students, for students. They provide services and activities to ensure that the student voice is represented university wide.
